I kept trying to paste the icon when getting info on the program, and it would change the appearance within finder, but when opening the program it was still the generic icon. Sooo to fix this, you have to - hold down control- click on the program and select 'Show Package Contents'. - go into Contents > MacOS folder - get info on the file called 'Audio Recorder' in there - paste over the terminal looking icon in the upper left = presto.. now the icon will show on the dock and application switch menu. This was for os x 10.5.7 - cheers quick correct that I ran into.. Now I am a happy camper!! I was getting lost in the Finder > Get Info window. I had clicked on the preview tab and was trying to copy the icon there. It is the icon in the top left hand corner of the window. Thanks!! Got it!
